Nature’s Tip for Pet Health (coconut oil for itchy skin)
Like people, many dogs suffer from allergies whether from food, environment, etc.
The allergies can often result in dogs chewing themselves raw. If you’re a pet parent, you do not want your fuzzy kids suffering from such misery.
My poor Radar dog was a victim of skin allergies.
Radar was put on an antihistamine, which eventually helped. However, I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of him consuming chemicals on a daily basis. After weaning him off of the antihistamine, I started adding a very tiny amount of organic extra virgin coconut oil into his food. Now a month later, he is itchy-free! His fur is shiny and soft and he hasn’t been chewing his paws or tail.
Thanks to Nadine M. Rosin, the author of the The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood, I discovered Tropical Traditions, an incredible source for organic coconut oil among many other natural and organic products.
