Listen to Your Pet
If you’re like me and are totally in love with your fur/feathered kids, you probably have learned many lessons from them.
It’s amazing, actually, how my human brain can make things far more complex than what they really are. Just as soon as I feel like something is too hard or not meant for me, I find myself in the middle of a lesson being taught by either my duck, one of my cats or one of my dogs.
A great example of how wise my critter family is took place a couple months ago on a rainy day.
I was in my office, feeling completely overwhelmed by the clutter that I had allowed to take place on the desk. It was one of those mornings; one thing after another. Every little thing that took place seemed to be one more reason as to why I wouldn’t have a good day. I was ready to be grouchy and had a book full of complaints.
Then, something so simple yet so incredible happened.
Jippers, my precious blue eyed cat daughter jumped on the desk, looked at me and shared a beautiful soft meow. She then proceeded to jump on the window sill near the desk. The window and blinds were opened just enough to bring in fresh air. As fussy as I was, I took the time to watch Jippers sit on the window sill. I observed her taking in all of the sights and smells from outside. Though she is strictly an indoor cat, she was enjoying nature at its greatest, watching birds play in the rain.
To think I was going to let one of my favorite type days pass me by because of silly excuses about being too busy.
Rainy days have always been something I enjoy; if it weren’t for Jippers reminding me to take a few seconds to enjoy the present, I probably would have been a miserable person to be around that day.
I recently read an excellent blog from Animal Communicator Bridget Pilloud that described pets as being spirit masters in an animal body.
I definitely see this as being true. My little spirit masters are constantly reminding me to chill. So, if you’re feeling like life is against you, take some time with your pet and listen to them. Life is too short to stress out.

Shannon,
What a beautiful post and a great reminder how the animals in our lives talk with us and help us when we are ready to listen!
Thanks so much for sharing.

Janet
