January Foster Dog of the Month (video included)
Loving, Loyal, Lonely

My name is Kris. I'm the foster dog of the month for January. Please take the time to learn more about me. You won't regret it.
Kris is a good-looking, wonderfully affectionate dog, one who is always ready for a walk or hug. So why would an attractive young female Shepherd mix be left behind in foster care while less attractive dogs got picked for adoption?
Well, Krissy’s looking for a better-than-average home, a home with someone who can provide the stability and firmness and unconditional love needed by a dog who never got any of them.
You see, she spent her early pupphood as an abused “backyard dog,” and like many dogs with this background, she’d suffered physical and emotional damage.
She came into rescue malnourished, filthy and full of parasites, but a few months of decent care fixed that…she’s in great shape at a slim adult weight of 55 pounds with a healthy soft coat.
Dealing with the emotional problems took longer. Kris was an extremely fearful and highly excitable young dog who never enjoyed a single minute of love or training.
With the help of her foster mom, Kris slowly gained self-control and self-confidence. She’s now crate-trained, housebroken, and fully obedience-trained. But she remains an energetic, emotional girl who responds best to calm, authoritative leadership. An adopter committed to maintaining her training will be rewarded with an endless amount of entertainment.
Kris loves to visit the dog park, where she runs and plays non stop, interacting happily with both people and dogs. And her energy level makes her an ideal hiking or jogging partner. Video below.

ABOVE ALL, KRISSY IS A VERY LOVING DOG WHO CRAVES AFFECTION.
She receives the material necessities of life in her foster home, but the thing she really lives for-frequent loving attention-won’t be hers until she finds a family to call her own. Kris adores kids, and although she’s too impulsive for little ones, she’d be a great choice for a family whose pre-teen wants a devoted companion. She is guaranteed to return a pound of love for every ounce she receives.
If you’re interested in adopting Kris, please contact Miniature Schnauzers and Friends or BocMeow and be sure to let us know that you found out about Kris through the BocMeow Foster Dog Program.
