Foster Dog *Spot Light*-Meet Fletcher

Fletcher is a 10 year old Miniature Schnauzer who is yet again looking for his forever home. Will that home be yours?

Fletcher is a 10 year old Miniature Schnauzer who is yet again looking for his forever home. Will that home be yours?

Fletcher first entered Miniature Schnauzers and Friends Rescue (MSFR) when his original owners moved out of state and said they couldn’t take him.

He was adopted several months later into what MSFR thought was a permanent, loving and committed home. As unbelievable as it is, it breaks our hearts that almost 5 years later Fletcher finds himself homeless again because his adopters are retiring and chose to move to a place that does not allow dogs. Poor Fletcher deserves so much more than this in his golden years. We hope to find someone with a big enough heart for an older fellow that has had his share of hard times. Fletcher needs a FOREVER home this time! He’s a gentle soul that wants nothing more than a loving and committed family.

Adoption is a lifetime commitment!

Fletcher should be a reminder to us all… please do not adopt unless you can make a commitment for the animal’s entire lifetime.

If you’re interested in Fletcher, please contact Miniature Schnauzers and Friends Rescue and let them know you found out about Fletcher from BocMeow’s “Foster Dog Spot Light” program!

Foster Dog Spot Light-Meet Mercedes

Mercedes is a little puppy girl! Her approximate date of birth is February 10, 2010

Mercedes is a very sweet little puppy girl! Her approximate date of birth is 2/10/10

Mercedes is a pure bred female Miniature Schnauzer puppy.

She was one of four puppies that were dumped at a high kill shelter because their owner had “too many dogs”.  We believe Mercedes and her siblings are the result of a backyard breeder’s litter that were the “left overs”.

Sleeping Mercedes-this photo was taken at a fundraiser for MSFR where there were many dogs and people. She was mellow the entire time!

NOTE: Mercedes was diagnosed with a mild heart murmur. Ultrasound showed she has mild Pulmonary Stenosis. Dr. Michael Lesser a Cardiologist of Advanced Veterinary Care Center examined her and did an ultrasound. He determined her case was very mild and that no surgery or medical intervention was required. Dr. Lesser said it’s very likely that she’ll have a normal life expectancy without ever needing any medical intervention for her heart. But he did say she should have another ultrasound at 1 year old. For more information on Pulmonary Stenosis, click HERE.

If you’re interested in Mercedes, please be sure to contact Miniature Schnauzers and Friends Rescue. Let them know you found out about Mercedes from BocMeow’s “Foster Dog Spot Light” program!

Foster Dog Spot Light

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Just an update: we are changing our Foster Dog of the Month program to “Foster Dog Spot Light”. All of the same benefits apply to any new clients that adopt one of the “Spot Light” dogs from Miniature Schnauzers and Friends. To learn those benefits, please read HERE. The “Foster Dog Spot Light” program  was created to give exposure to foster dogs that are having a difficult time getting adopting, whether they be senior dogs, behavior challenges and/or health concerns. All “Spot Light” dogs will be introduced via BocMeow’s blog in addition to all updates on each “Spot Light” dog.  If you’d like more information on Miniature Schnauzers and Friends Rescue, please check out their website or send them an email. All foster dogs from Miniature Schnauzers and Friends are adopted out to Southern California residents only.
