Kumpi, the best pet food ever!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I’d like to introduce to you a pet food you can now trust for your dogs and cats.  Thanks to a fantastic client, the fur mom of Delia and Daisy, I learned about Kumpi, a pet food you cannot find in mainstream pet stores.  My dog Dasher and the rest of my fur family has been eating Kumpi for quite some time now. Not only do all of my fur kids go crazy for Kumpi, they’re physically thriving off of it, which has helped with Dasher’s aggression

Meet Dasher the Green Dog

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Meet the famous Dasher. He was on the Dog Whisperer during Season 3 because of his aggression.

Heeeyyyy

Heeeyyyy

As mentioned in the previous BocMeow blog, his aggression towards me and my husband has significantly decreased due to a new diet and nutritional supplement.

We call him Greens because he’s not exactly ripe.  As you look at the photo, you may think he’s a brown dog. Don’t be fooled, he is green. In my house, we often say everyone needs a green dog. Having a green dog keeps you on your toes and helps you appreciate every second.

Dasher is sitting on my lap as I type this and almost seems to know that once again, he is the center of attention. :-)

If anyone reading this blog can relate to the “Green Dog Theory”, feel free to share your story by leaving a comment on this post.

Stay tuned for more information regarding Dasher’s new diet.

Agression in dogs, not just a behavioral issue

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

In 2004, my husband and I adopted a small Italian greyhound mix. We didn’t know his age but we were sure he was an older guy. His teeth were in bad shape and he kind of walked around as if he were holding a cane. We named him Dasher because of his long legs and his several attempts to “dash” out the front door. As cute as he was, we soon discovered that he had teeth like Jaws and was ready and willing to bite our hands off at any time. (more…)

Household products linked to pet cancer

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Many people are not aware of the harmful chemicals that are in the household products they buy. Such chemicals can be deadly for your pet. If your pet has been exposed to any toxic products, even in small doses, the chemical additives can add up and be  carcinogenic.  It is best to get rid of any toxic household/lawn products and replace them with more safe products.  (more…)

Pet Parenthood through Life and Death

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

As a pet owner, I don’t look at my pets as just another animal.

I love my pets. They are a part of my family. They are my children and I am their mom. I worry about them the same way I would a child, i.e. make sure they’re warm and comfortable, make sure their healthy and happy. As a professional pet sitter, I know my clients feel the same way about their pets.

With this in mind, we know our pets will not live as long as us and that the day will come when we have to say goodbye.

It’s a thought all pet owners dread and don’t want to think about, but is a fact that all pet owners must face. Many people don’t understand the emotion behind losing a pet, wondering why someone would grieve over a dog or a cat. Unless we have other friends or family who understand our love for our pets, it is hard to talk about our grief. The pain of losing a pet is real and we should not be embarrassed about it. If we spent the time loving our pets, how could we just forget them and move on without grieving for them? (more…)

Nutritional Pet Supplement

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

In today’s society, most informed people take a daily supplement in addition to eating the most nutritious foods available.  It is known that nutritional supplements are a source of promoting a healthy life, especially in a society where fast food is readily available on every corner and so much of the food in grocery stores is processed with chemicals.  It should only make sense that pets need a daily supplement as well in order to ensure that they’re living healthy lives.  Please read on to learn more about what is really in pet food and how you can help your pets with the perfect supplement,  Vetraceuticals, a three stage program that provides a wide variety of high quality nutrients.

Pet Obesity

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Ahh, the holidays..a time when families and friends get together to celebrate and indulge in delicious seasonal treats.  Many pet owners include their furry children in the holiday celebration of eating because food is usually the center of any type of special occasion.  Just like people, pets tend to gain weight between Thanksgiving and the New Year.  Many pet owners want to reward their pets with treats, but ultimately, all of the “rewarding” treats can cause several health problems for your pet down the road.  Such health problems include diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis and cancer.  (more…)
